Celebrating the 2025 Nevada County Poet Laureate

Join us as we honor Poet Laureate Emerita Kirsten Casey and welcome Nevada County’s new Poet Laureate, Karen Terrey. This special evening, known as the Passing of the Laurels, recognizes the contributions of our outgoing poet laureate while celebrating the voice and vision of the incoming poet.

Event Details

Gather with us at Alibi Ale Works in downtown Truckee from 5:30 – 7:00 PM on March 4 for an evening of poetry, community, and celebration. Enjoy readings from both Casey & Terrey and the passing of this esteemed literary role to Karen Terrey, who will carry forward the tradition of uplifting poetry throughout Nevada County.
